Day 1

Arrival at Kruger National Park
The shared shuttle departs OR Tambo Airport (Bus Terminal) at 07.45. The shared drive from Johannesburg to the Drakensberg Mountains takes about 5 hours with a comfortable air conditioned vehicle. You arrive after noon, and join your first shared afternoon safari in a private game reserve after a light lunch (own account). Later that day you check in at a boutique bush lodge and enjoy dinner deliciously prepared by your host under the light of the stars.
 
Day 2

Cultural Experience and afternoon safari
Our day starts with an early breakfast then check out and depart towards Kruger National Park, to an area where traditional farming and agriculture meets a more modern lifestyle influenced by nature conservation and tourism. Meet some locals and find out how they live their daily lives in and surrounded by nature; how modern and traditional agriculture and life stock farming merge into something unique that benefits the surrounding communities and how crafts and local businesses contribute to the bigger picture of a rural contemporary South African lifestyle. In the late afternoon we make our way into Kruger National Park, where we embark on another safari drive to our rest camp, where our accommodation for the night is located. Your guide will prepare dinner for you before you retire for the night in rustic, Kruger-style thatched ensuite bungalows.

Day 3-4

Kruger National Park Safari

We leave early after a quick coffee / tea and rusk, as soon as the camp  gates open for the day. We are one of the first vehicles out in the park and may get a glimpse of what has happened during the night; we could see signs of a nightly lion's hunt or witness a herd of elephants making their way to the nearest water hole in the early morning hours.  Back at the camp, your guide will prepare breakfast for you before continuing the safari. We will spend the next 2 days in the national park on safari with an open safari vehicle (OSV). This car gives you a 180 degrees panoramic view of the African savanna which is a perfect vantage point to see over high grasses and bushes, creating brilliant photographic opportunities. Your expert guide provides incredible insights and captivating information about the African bush and its inhabitants. We will spend the following 2 nights at one of the Kruger National Park rest camps in Kruger's standard twin ensuite bungalows.

Day 5
​
Last game drive and return to Johannesburg
After an early departure on the last safari of this tour we drive towards the nearest exit gate and back to Hoedspruit, where the shared shuttle departs at 11.00. You are scheduled to arrive at OR Tambo Airport around 18.00.
